Electronic Giving at CCWC

Frequently Asked Questions about Electronic Giving

Electronic Giving Form

Q. What is Electronic Giving?

A. Electronic giving is a manner in which members and friends of Cherry Creek Wesleyan Church may make contributions using the modern means of payment which is widely available and growing in demand by a large segment of society.  There are two ways in which electronic payments can be processed:

Credit & Debit Card Giving lets you make offerings automatically on a predetermined schedule using a credit or debit card. Today, many families use debit cards as a convenient alternative to checks or use credit cards in a responsible manner to manage a wide range of obligations. An authorization for giving by debit or credit card will be available online here.

Q. Why is Cherry Creek Wesleyan Church implementing this option now?

A. Here at CCWC, we want to offer options for our members and friends that want a more convienent and consistent way to give. Electronic giving has become more practical financially and is totally embraced by a growing segment of society.  To meet the needs of these people, it is appropriate to now offer this option.

Q. What are the major advantages of electronic giving by credit or debit card?

A. Electronic giving allows members and friends the convenience of giving without the hassle of writing a check or bringing cash each week.  With electronic giving, members can then meet pledge donations even when they are unable to attend.  The church in turn benefits from a reduction in the volume of check and cash contributions that must be handled and manually processed in the church office.

Q. How are my automatic contributions deducted and transferred?

A.  The first step is to fill out an authorization form and return to the church office (Hilarie or Reid).  If you are uncomfortable putting your information down on paper, you can also call the church office and we can set up your account over the phone or in person. Once we have your information, we will set up an account that is set to your specifications.  Contributions will be transfered from your account to the church’s bank account via authorize.net.  Authorize.net is a well established company that the church and 305,000 other businesses use to process secure electronic transactions.  Once your account has been set up, your bank account information will be shredded.

Q. When will my contribution be debited from my account?

A. Your account will be debited on the date that you specify on your authorization form.

Q. How will I keep track of contributions in my check register?

A. Electronic contributions will appear on your bank statement.

Q. What can I use to prove I made a contribution?

A. Your bank statement will show an itemized list of electronic transactions that can be used as proof of your contributions.

Q. What if I try electronic giving by credit or debit card and don’t like it?
